Jeera Rice, no onion, no garlic jeera rice, How to prepare Jeera rice.

Today's recipe jeera rice is one pot rice dish, which can be prepared easily in jiffy. Jeera rice is aromatic, fluffy and very tasty. Generally jeera rice is prepared with long grain basmathi rice, jeera/cumin seeds, some basic spices and  ghee. We can also prepare with normal rice or even with left over rice using vegetable oil too.

Check this jeera rice in my youtube channel

When you are planning to prepare any heavy curries, dal recipes then jeera rice goes well with that. Also we can pack it for lunch box, it taste aromatic and tasty without any side dish too.

Today's recipe comes under no onion, no garlic catogery.
Though there is no limit for adding onion and garlic, we can prepare Jeera rice in many variations and in many ways accordingly. Like first prepare rice and then prepare Jeera rice or by directly cooking rice with jeera and spices. We can prepare it in pressure cooker or in Kadai. We can also add veggies like carrot, beans to make jeera pulao. As you are all familiar whenever I plan paneer dishes I prefer to prepare simple pulao like peas pulaoCarrot rice. Today I had jeera rice with one of my fav paneer recipe that is panner lababdar(will post soon).

That's it tasty and flavourful jeera rice is ready to serve 😋, serve it with any paneer curries like Malai Matar paneer, or any gravy recipes like Kaju Curry, Punjabi dum aloo, As I already told you I had this tasty flavoured jeera rice with paneer lababdar curry.

Note

* We can also use normal rice instead of basmathi rice.

* You can also use vegetable oil instead of ghee

* Adding cashew nuts is optional but gives good taste to jeera rice.

Tips

** Soak basmathi rice for 20 - 30 minutes then use 2 1/2 glass of water. If you soak less than 20 minutes then use 3 glasses of water.

** Adding few drop of lemon juice cooks rice fluffy and gives good white color.

** If you add more amount of lemon juice then jeera rice taste changes so take care while adding lemon juice.

** Though using ghee is optional  it gives good flavour and taste to rice.

** Frying basmathi rice will enhances the flavour of rice, point to remember is mix it smoothly, otherwise rice will break.

** After cooking rest the jeera rice for 5 to 10 so that rice will e fluffy.

**If you want cook basmati rice pressure cooker then cook for 2 whistles.

** If you want to use normal rice then cook for 3 whistles.
