Senaga guggillu for Shivratri , Black chickpeas prasadam curry, Kadale kaalu usli, Konda Kadallu sundial, Kala Chana dal fry

Happy Maha Shivratri to all friends and family 💐🙏. Today's recipe is black chickpeas prasadam recipe. It is also known as senaga guggillu in Telugu, Kadale kaalu usli in kannada, Konda Kadallu sundial in Tamil and Kala Chana fry in hindi. Senaga guggillu is popular prasadam recipe in South India prepared as prasadam for festivals like Vinayachavithi, Shivaratri, Varalakshmi Pooja, Navarathri festivals. As tomorrow is Maha Shivratri festival, thought to post this recipe. On Shivratri we do fasting from morning and do offer guggillu and panakam to Lord shiva and have it and night we do jagaran.

Not only as naivedyam / prasadam we can also have it as evening snacks or as sides dish for lunch and dinner.Today I used sprouted chickpeas to prepare this. We can also prepare black chickpeas masala curries, biryani's. Will update recipes soon 😍. Black chickpeas is very healthy, it is low in fat, high in dietary fibre, rich in vitamins and minerals. Good for kids growth, prevents diabetes and treats digestive related problems. I think may be because of these many benifits our elders decided it as prasadam😍. Water melon is the seasonal fruit which is offered as naivedyam along with guggillu and panakam or lemon juice indicating that summer season started.

Divine and tasty sanaga guggillu || Konda Kadallu sundial || Kadale kaalu usili || Kala Chana dal fy || Black chickpeas fry is ready for naivedyam.

Offer it with watermelon and panakam or lemon juice. PC idea given by mom 😍😍.

Notes

* If you are okay with onion and garlic you can add it.

Tips

** I used molaketina sanagalu / sprouted chick Peas. You can use soaked chickpeas accordingly.

** We add salt while boiling so take care while adding salt at step - 7.

** Donot add more water while boilling as proteins will drain out in water. We do not use that water for this recipe.

** Instead of grinding chilli  ginger coarsely, you can cut both and use it directly or you can use pistle motar too.

** Use fresh grated or scrapped coconut to get good taste.

** After adding coconut donot fry for long time. Just mix it once and switch off flames as coconut will become dry.
