Banana Sheera || Banana rava kesari || Banana Halwa using red banana || Sevvalai rava kesari

Banana Sheera || banana halwa || banana rava kesari using red banana. It is delicious and very tasty recipe, it is very easy to prepare sweet recipe using banana and semolina. I used red banana to prepare this banana halwa, you can use any variety banana to prepare this rava kesari. Red banana is also known as "Sevvalai" in Tamil.  Rava kesari is one of the main prasadam recipe we prepare during many festivals. Like simple rava kesari we prepare this banana rava kesari during puja's like satya narayana swamy pooja, vara lakshmi pooja or on normal days too. Like above kesari recipe we can also prepare many sheera/kesari bath recipe using fresh fruits like Pineapple rava kesari, strawberries and even chocolate too.

We can also use milk to prepare rava kesari to get creamy texture, but we cannot store it for long time. So I prepared adding water, prepare according to your wish. Today I used red banana instead normal banana. I know you are thinking that why I am using red banana why not normal yellow banana, here is reason from few months we started eating red banana regularly as it is very healthy. Red banana's are plumper and sweeter than yellow banana's. Red banana is nutrient rich, contains high fiber, rich in anti-oxidants and best immunity booster when compared to yellow variety bananas. Red banana has more  beta carotene and vitamin c than yellow variety banana(info from wiki).  And yes it is only available in some areas of South India, popularly in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. I d't have more information where these banana's are available in India. Do comment if you know any info about it :) Try to include red banana's in your diet regularly if you get it in your areas.
